Miracle on 5th Avenue

The third member of the Urban Genie crew (see Sleepless in Manhattan) finds love.
Asked to decorate an author’s apartment over Christmas while he’s on retreat in Vermont sweet-natured Eva discovers that he’s not in Vermont at all.
Stuck in the flat with the attractive but brooding Lucas Blade sparks start to fly.
Of course it wouldn’t be a romance if there weren’t obstacles in their way.
Far more fun than the first book in the series I burned through this one over the course of New Years Eve. If you like a sweet predictable romance then this is one for you.

Family affairs come to a head with Toby’s mother Amandine binding her to find and return her missing half-sister.
The search takes her through the realms of Faerie and causes serious collateral damage along the way.
My favourite Urban Fantasy series continues in stellar fashion. I’d recommend that you read this series but maybe start with an earlier book.

Cancer survivor Jen Maitland brings a fake boyfriend to meet her mother in the hopes that a stuffy annoying lawyer type will stop the romantic inference for a while.
This being a romance things don’t quite go to plan.
This is a surprisingly enjoyable sweet natured contemporary romance. Well worth a shot if you like the fake dating trope.

Following the events of the previous book the royalty of North American Faerie gather to discuss the future of the Elf Shot cure.
Politics soon turns dirty and Toby has to identify the culprit before everything goes to hell.
It’s just another highly enjoyable book in the series – maybe’s about time you gave it a shot?

In this slight historical romance shy, retiring Lady Amelia d’Orsay uncharacteristically pushes herself forward to dance with a moody and mysterious Duke in order to beg him to release her brother’s debt.
One thing leads to another and she quickly finds herself married to the selfsame Duke and involved various social intrigues.

Sleepless In Manhattan

When Paige and her friends are let go from their jobs they decide to start up their own business. Working closely with her childhood crush Jake as her first client Paige finds herself falling for him all over again.
Normally Sarah Morgan books are super quick reads with really enjoyable dialogue. This particular book took me months of slow grinding to complete. I don’t know if it was just this particular set of characters or something to do with my mindset but I struggled with this book from the off. Now that I’ve finished I can see that it’s a perfectly generic piece of contemporary romance. Nothing overly bad or particularly exciting about it.

Dani is a touchline TV reporter covering American Football. Tyson is a star quarterback – back on the top of the game after very public fall from grace. When she’s forced to go and work with his team will they be able to get past their history?
This is a perfectly compentent and completely predicable contemporary romance. I doubt I’ll remember any of it in a couple of days.
